Measuring for the Perfect Fit
Welcome to our measurement guide. To ensure your item fits flawlessly, precise measurements are essential.
Please keep the following guidelines in mind when taking your measurements:
- Check Twice, Measure Thrice: Before submitting your measurements, double and triple-check their
accuracy. We cannot be held responsible for ill-fitting items due to inaccurately recorded measurements.
Your satisfaction is our priority, so please take extra care.
- Buddy Up: If possible, enlist a friend's assistance. Measuring with a partner tends to yield more
accurate results.
- Loose and Easy: Remember to measure loosely. The measuring tape should not be pulled taut. Measure when
you're relaxed, not when you're holding your breath.
- What to Wear: For bust measurements, wear an unpadded bra to maintain the correct positioning and ensure
a perfect fit. In general, measure against your skin or very thin clothing, as any added bulk may skew
the measurements.
- No Need to Stress: Measuring may seem daunting, but there's no need to overthink it. If you have any
questions, don't hesitate to contact us via email or chat. We're here to assist you. Plus, you're one
step closer to your custom-made corset!

Locating Your Bust and Natural Waist
To determine your bust measurement, identify the fullest part of your chest while wearing an unpadded
bra, at the level of your nipples. Your natural waist can be pinpointed by bending from side to side.
It's typically just above your belly button, where your body naturally folds between your rib cage and
hip bone as you bend.
Secure a ribbon, rope, string, or a piece of elastic to encircle your bust and another around your
natural waist, ensuring they remain perfectly level with the floor, without any drooping or
irregularities. Maintain a consistent, straight line all around your body, as illustrated in the image
to the left.
General Measurements for All Garments
- Height: Stand with your back against a wall, feet together, and measure from the top of your head to
the floor. Use a level surface and ensure that the tape is parallel to the ground.
For Dresses and Skirts
- Dress/Skirt Length: Measure from your natural waist to the desired hemline. Ensure that the tape
is straight and parallel to the center front of the garment.
- Hips: Measure the fullest part of your hips, usually about 7-9 inches below your natural waist.
Keep the tape parallel to the floor and snug but not tight.
- Dress/Skirt Sweep: Measure the circumference at the hemline for fullness. Circle the tape around
the hem while keeping it level and straight.
For Pants
- Inseam: Measure from the crotch to the desired hemline. Ensure the tape is straight and follows
the curve between your legs.
- Outseam: Measure from the waist (or natural waist, depending on style) to the desired hemline.
Keep the tape straight and parallel to the center front.
- Thigh: Measure around the fullest part of your thigh, typically 1-2 inches below the crotch.
Make sure the tape is snug but not tight.
- Knee: Measure around the knee area for a specific fit if necessary.
- Calf: Measure around the fullest part of your calf.
- Leg Opening: Measure the circumference at the hemline. Keep the tape straight and level.
For Blouses and Tops
- Bust: Measure around the fullest area of your chest when wearing an unpadded bra, at the level
of your nipples.
- Sleeve Length: Measure from the shoulder seam to the desired sleeve length. Extend the tape from
the shoulder point.
- Bicep: Measure around the fullest part of your upper arm. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
- Cuff/Wrist: Measure around your wrist, or specify the desired cuff width. Ensure the tape fits
comfortably around your wrist
- Cape/Cloak Length: Measure from the shoulder or neckline to the desired length. Extend the tape
vertically for this measurement.
- Neck Opening: Measure around your neck, specifying the desired opening size. Keep the tape snug
but not constricting.
For Corsets
- Bust: Measure around the fullest area of your chest when wearing an unpadded bra, at the level
of your nipples.
- Underbust: Measure the area directly under your bust, typically where your bra band sits.
- Waist: Measure around your natural waist level.
- High Hip: Measure down 4 inches from your natural waist and mark this location. Measure the
circumference at this point.
- Apex to Waist along Breast: Start from your nipple and measure down to your natural waist.
The measuring tape should be pressed along the curve of your breast. Be sure you are taking this
measurement from the same points you previously measured your bust and natural waist.
- Apex to Waist at Side: Starting from the level you took your bust measurement from, measure
straight down against your body to your natural waist. Be sure you are taking this measurement
from the same points you previously measured your bust and natural waist. Do not measure from
your armpit. This measurement should be less than or equal to the measurement you got for your
apex to waist along the breast.
- Underbust to Natural Waist: Measure from the position you took your underbust measurement,
directly under your bust (where your bra band usually sits), and measure down to your natural
waist.
For Hats
- Head Circumference: Measure around your head, typically 1 inch above your eyebrows.
- Crown Height: Measure from the base of your head (where you measured the head circumference)
to the top, or specify the desired crown height.
For Gloves
- Hand Circumference: Measure around your palm at its widest point, typically just below the
knuckles.
- Hand Length: Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your palm.
For Turtlenecks
- Neck Circumference: Measure around the base of your neck.
- Neck Height: Measure from the base of your neck to the desired height of the turtleneck.
For Bodysuits
- Torso Length: Measure from the highest point of your shoulder down to the crotch.
- Bust Point to Bust Point: Measure horizontally from the tip of one bust point to the other.
- Bust Point to Crotch: Measure from one bust point to the crotch along your body.
- Hip Width: Measure from one hip point to the other, typically at the widest part of your
hips.
General Instructions for Taking Measurements
- Use a soft, flexible measuring tape for the most accurate results.
- Measure over undergarments or the type of clothing you'll typically wear with the garment.
- Keep the measuring tape snug but not tight, allowing for a comfortable fit.
- Stand up straight and in a relaxed position, with your feet together for most measurements.
- When measuring for length, have someone assist you for precise results.
- Double-check each measurement to ensure accuracy.
- For circumference measurements (e.g., chest, hips), circle the tape around your body without
twisting
it.
- Specify any additional details, such as "3cm below the waist" or " 8cm above the natural waist," for
custom fits.
- Use clear reference points, like the center front or center back of the garment, to ensure
accuracy.
